About the Book:

This book is about knowing when creative action is worth the risk and when it is not. This includes developing the awareness, courage, and confidence to support and take risks when it is beneficial to do so in the classroom. It also includes being able to recognize when certain risks should be avoided. The key is knowing when and how to take creative action in a way that not only makes sense for the situation at hand, but also stands to make a positive contribution to others. The aim of this book is to help you and your students identify the kinds of risks that are worth taking, better anticipate and navigate potential hazards associated with those risks, and maximize the potential benefits

About the Author:

Dr. Ronald A. Beghetto is an internationally recognized expert on creativity in educational settings. He serves as Professor of Educational Psychology in the Neag School of Education and Director of the Innovation House at the University of Connecticut. Creative Compass Lounge Event: Creativity for Everybody Book Talk with Kathryn Haydon

Creative Compass Lounge Members, join co-author Kathryn Haydon and FableVision Learning’s Sara Smith for a book talk about our first book club book Creativity for Everybody!

Hosted virtually in the Creative Compass Lounge on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 4:30 p.m. ET, Members can catch up with the book club in the Read hub on the Creative Compass Lounge ahead of the event. There will be an opportunity to ask Kathryn questions at the end of the session.

The session will be recorded and added to the Read hub after the event for anyone who can not attend live.

About the book:
Creativity for Everybody combines the talents of a writer-poet-educator and a designer-artist-simplifier into a fun, quick read on the science of creativity. Its varied design elements (visual collages, photographs, line drawings, graphic art) and creative components (simple prose, poetry, sidelines, and delightful endnotes) invite you into an engaging reading experience.

"The more hands we can get Creativity for Everybody into - the better - to help fan the flames of the movement to a more enlightened, creative, brave way of being human." - Peter H. Reynolds
