Young Adult Author Panel Discussion

  • The Blue Bunny Bookstore 577 High St Dedham, MA, 02026 United States (map)

The Blue Bunny Bookstore will be hosting a Young Adult Literature Panel discussion with five authors on Saturday March 14th from 3 pm to 5 pm. Cara Bertrand, Annie Cardi, Gina Damico, A.C. Gaughen, and Kim Harrington will be sharing excerpts from their books and presenting their insights about writing for young adults, along with time for questions and answers from the audience. All five of the authors have published works of fiction specifically for the young adult market, which is aimed primarily at the teenage audience between the ages of 12 and 17. This genre of books has also gained a large audience with adults in recent years. Participating on the panel will be:

  • Cara Bertrand is the author of LOST IN THOUGHT, the first book of the Sentenia series, followed by SECOND THOUGHTS, with another soon to come. Publisher's Weekly describes Lost in Thought as "compelling and solid, this paranormal thriller has it all: love, murder, intrigue, mind games, and a bit of mystery."

  • Annie Cardi's recently published THE CHANCE YOU WONT RETURN was deemed"an honest, uncompromising story" with a starred review from Kirkus: "Cardi delves into issues of love, acceptance, loss and identity in her engaging debut novel."

  • Gina Damico has found critical success with her books CROAK, SCORCH, andROGUE- a "morbidly funny" trilogy about a teenage Grim Reaper, that the YA journal VOYA calls "creepy and hilarious."

  • Kim Harrington is the author of the well-known middle-grade SLEUTH OR DARE mysteries, as well as the YA romantic thrillers FORGET ME and CLARITY, both well-reviewed by Kirkus, Plublisher's Weekly and School Library Journal.

  • AC Gaughen is the author of the SCARLET Trilogy, a retelling of the Robin Hood tale, filled with action, secrets, and romance. SCARLET and its sequel LADY THIEF are huge favorites with the YA crowd, and the soon-to-be-released LIONHEART is eagerly awaited.

All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the store at 781-493-6568 or stop by The Blue Bunny Bookstore. RSVPs are encouraged on our facebook invite page, but not essential.
